THE BEAST PROGRAM – A 12-week strength cycle for total domination!
We decided to put out a 12-week training prep that our crew ran for hitting some new PRs in the gym! Specifically, the deadlift and overhead press. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t PR in the other lifts as well, because that happened for MOST of the athletes who ran this program! To be honest this program is also just a ton of fun. Great blend of strength/hypertrophy/Athleticism/variation. It’s a great program in the off season or if you are looking to just put on some size and strength.
Now, this program isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s going to take mental preparation and grit as each cycle pushes you in different ways.
We start off with a fair amount of volume for building a strong base and work capacity. You will be getting some gnarly pumps as well! The variations in this block will challenge you like no other. But all designed for a purpose. There is also 1 “athletic” style workout each week to keep you moving well and feeling athletic.
Block 2 heads more into the strength realm and begins to get more specific with strength intensity and volume. This is the bread-and-butter block if you want to get strong as heck!
Block 3 is your peak/testing block. Prepare to smash your PR’s in these lifts.
Coach Joe increased his press by 10lbs from this program.
His training partners DK / Taylor Pulled over 750 for DL PR’s AND also PR’s in their squat and press.
We recommend also running this program being in a caloric surplus, while prioritizing rest and recovery.
Frequency: 4-5x per week
Equipment needed: Bands, ssb bar, trap bar, barbells, hack squat, lat pull down, slingshot, pins for pressing (not all is needed you can make adjustments with similar variations)
